Moving across country, starting over, and rebuilding my life has been quite a journey. My adventures have led to personal growth, resilience, and a passion for guiding others through transitional periods in life.

When I left my home in Texas to chase dreams in California, I was filled with hope and determination. Fresh out of college with a BA in Psychology, I believed the graduate schools in the Golden State were my ticket to get a PhD, develop a clinical practice, and help people deal with all the challenges of the human experience. I needed to work also, so I used my experience in accounting to line up an accounting position before my boyfriend, Jason, and I had even moved.

One of the hardest parts about moving to California was being away from family and friends. My parents are the most influential role models in my life. They prioritized my education, and I attended the best schools. Their drive and strong work ethic motivated me to chase my dreams. No goal was too big, and everything was achievable if I gave my all. They have always been there cheering me on through everything I’ve been through in life.

Adapting to a new environment and a new way of life tested my adaptability and resourcefulness. We focused on crafting our home into a sanctuary to relax and recover from the daily grind of working and commuting in Silicon Valley. We planted a rose garden that I enjoyed pruning, and vegetables for fresh ingredients to support Jason’s love of cooking. Our backyard was an oasis, and we even built an indoor orchid room where we cultivated over 100 beautiful orchid plants. Before I knew it, I had built a wonderful life there. I had an awesome group of coworkers and friends and continued to get better and better job opportunities—life was great!

My time in California spanned eight years, but by late 2004, Jason and I parted ways, and I was ready for a new chapter. Family has always been important to me, and I missed enjoying time with my parents and extended family, so I returned to my southern roots.

My parents had retired from their accounting jobs and moved to Orange Beach, Alabama, investing in two waterfront condos. This was the perfect opportunity for me to start a new life. This transition carried the echoes of the trials I had faced in California. The strength and confidence I had gained in California were invaluable.

While my work in accounting paid very well, it was never my dream job. The itch for something different, something more, kept growing stronger. I investigated Psychology PhD programs again, but decided to try a new career that would allow me to help people in a different way.

So, I made a bold decision to leave my career in accounting and dive into the world of real estate. This switch, while daunting at first, was a step towards the entrepreneurship and freedom I always wanted. Now, I was working seven days a week, but not the grueling eight or nine-hour days tied to a desk. The possibilities were unlimited with hard work and perseverance. The challenge of building a successful real estate career from the ground up was akin to a puzzle, and I was determined to find the pieces and make them fit into a rewarding and relaxed lifestyle enjoying time with family and friends.

The skills I had acquired during my time in California, from adaptability to tenacity, proved vital in this new endeavor. I found my niche as a buyer's agent for new construction properties, a role that allowed me to guide clients through the process of building their dream homes from the ground up. This specialization set me apart and opened doors to new opportunities. I also delved into military relocations and VA loans, assisting service members and their families in finding the perfect place to call home when they had a change of station.

My experiences moving across the country have prepared me to guide others through periods of transition. My purpose, I realized, was to be a source of guidance, a beacon of light, and an unwavering advocate for others as they pursued their dreams of home ownership near the beach.

As fate would have it, Jason and I reunited, and he joined me here in Alabama to build our lives together once again. Our dream was to take full advantage of living in Orange Beach, spending time at the beach, boating, enjoying outdoor dining, live music, gardening, and to love on our spoiled cat named Louie, who is named after our backyard rabbit from California. Unfortunately, our time here was cut short due to unforeseen health issues and Jason passed away. This led to a season of grieving and growth in ways I never expected. I am more focused than ever on overall health, stability, family, and my business serving others.

Every achievement, every difficulty overcome, and every new adventure in my life has solidified my resolve to create a positive difference in the lives of others!
